About the festival:
Wathann Film Festival is the very first film festival in Myanmar. Organized by Wathann Film Institute (WFI) mainly supporting on Film Education and Media Development in Myanmar. Wathann Film Festival founded in 2011.
Best Documentary Film Award

Opium Farmer by Su Su Hlaing – 21 minutes
This film sensitively portrays the lives of two opium farming families in Myanmar and sheds lights on their light.
Bedt Short Film Award

Sick by Zaw Bo Bo Hein – 27 minutes
One night Maung Phone took his sick friend Aung Naing to a hospital. Due to his severe illness Aung Naing was put in an isolation room. The hospital told Maung Phone that they should go to a larger hospital and they might cost much. Maung Phone left his dear friend to find money. Spending the night in the isolation room in loneliness and fear, Aung Naing was waiting for his friend’s return.
New Vision Award

1/4 wasted by Myo Thar Khin – 18 minutes
Story of a young man who no longer wants to know about existing things in the non-existence, and his return to native home.

Audience Award

Acceptance by Nyi Zaw Htwe – 15 minutes
