About the festival:
CineKabalen Film Festival aims to strengthen Central Luzon filmmakers and audience. It stands for unity of all seven provinces of Central Luzon through its regional films.
The festival welcomes short films for two categories — the Kapampangan Short Film Competition and the Central Luzon Short Film Competition.
General Rules for the Kapampangan Competition:
– The contest is open to filmmakers (directors) who identify themselves as Kapampangans or of Kapampangan descent, living in the country or abroad, amateur or professional.
– Should explicitly and creatively mirror either traditional or modern Kapampangan culture, life, and experience; conventional stories and perspectives are discouraged, along with generic young romance and evangelical works.
– Festival only accepts narrative fictions.
– Short Films should be between 6 to 12 minutes long including opening and closing credits.
– Short Films should have not been made earlier than January 2018.
– Only short films that have not yet won in national or international film festivals are eligible to submit.
– Short Films must contain mainly Kapampangan language with English subtitles; subtitles should have accurate grammar, and must be easy to read when the short film is played on a regular TV set.
– Contestants may submit as many entries as they want. Be reminded though that if the entrant has multiple entries, only one of the films may be shortlisted by the Screening Committee to compete.

– The contest is open to filmmakers (directors) who identify themselves as Auroran, Bataeño, Bulaqueño, Novo Ecijano, Kapampangan, Tarlaqueño, Sambal, or of these descents, living in the country or abroad, amateur or professional.
– Should explicitly and creatively mirror either traditional or modern life, culture and
experience in Central Luzon; unique regional stories are highly encouraged;
– Festival only accepts narrative fictions.
– Short Films should be between 6 to 12 minutes long including opening and closing credits.
– Short Films must contain any Central Luzon language (Kapampangan, Sinauna, Sambal, Ayta, Tagalog, etc.) with English subtitles; subtitles should have accurate grammar, and must be easy to read when the short film is played on a regular TV set.
– Contestants may submit as many entries as they want. Be reminded though that if the entrant has multiple entries, only one of the films may be shortlisted by the Screening Committee to compete.
