11th Pelikultura Calabarzon Film Festival – Call for Entry 2021

The Pelikultura Calabarzon Film Festival (Philippines) is accepting short films until August 28th, 2021.

Categories:
– Southern Tagalog Film Competition
Open to all filmmakers with short films related to any aspect of Southern Tagalog Culture. Geographically, ST covers CALABARZON and MIMAROPA regions.

– Alpas Section
Open to student filmmakers from Region IV-A with short films about their lives during the pandemic.

– Exhibition Section
Open to all filmmakers.

Southern Tagalog Film Competition
– Films must have been completed after January 1st, 2020.
– Films may be live action or animation and may be in any genre (narrative, documentary, or experimental).
– Films submitted to ST Shorts Premiere may run from a minute up to 40 minutes. Those with longer running time may be considered.
– Films which competed in international film competitions will NOT be accepted. Those that competed in local film competitions may be accepted.
– Films should be in the original language with English subtitles.

Alpas Section
– Film entries must have been produced between 2020-2021.
– A maximum of two (2) film entries per filmmaker will be accepted.
– Any film format, regardless of the orientation and the device used, is allowed.
– In accordance with copyright laws, materials used must be original, licensed, or in the public domain. Pelikultura reserves the right to disqualify films that contain unauthorized use of copyrighted or trademarked materials.
– The film must be in its original language with English subtitles.
– Pelikultura will give its best effort in ensuring the safety of submitted entries throughout the period of the festival. The organizers are not liable for instances of unauthorized distribution outside the festival duration.
– Submitted entries are considered final, any changes are not allowed.
– Open to Collegiate and senior high school students currently enrolled in Region IV-A CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) schools are eligible to participate.
– The filmmaker must be officially enrolled in the current academic school year (A.Y. 2020-2021 or A.Y. 2021-2022).
– The film entry must have a minimum running time of three (3) minutes and a maximum running time of seven (7) minutes.
– The film entry shall not have been featured in any other local festivals and/or competitions other than intra-school screenings.
– The festival committee has the right to determine the eligibility of the film entries submitted.

Exhibition Section
– Films must have been completed after January 1st, 2020.
– Open to all filmmakers, residents of Calabarzon or not. All film submissions should be original feature-length or short films of any genre and format.
– Films may be short or feature length.
– Films may be live action or animation and may be in any genre (narrative, documentary, or experimental).
– Films should be in the original language with English subtitles.

Online submission of film screeners is preferred. However, if this is not possible, films stored in DVD may be submitted via a courier. The link to the online screeners should be submitted together with the submission form via Google Form (https://tinyurl.com/Pelikultura2021-STSP).

Submission Fee: FREE
Deadline: August 28th, 2021
Notification Date: September 24th, 2021
