The Sinag Maynila Independent Film Festival (Philippines) is accepting full-length screenplays until August 29th and Short Films & Documentaries until December 31st, 2019. Here you will find more information about their call for entry. *Only accepts movies by filmmakers of Filipino descent*

About the festival:
Solar Entertainment Corporation together with renowned director Brillante Mendoza launched this film festival in 2015 that aims to support local independent cinema. Sinag Maynila was born from the vision of Mr. Wilson Tieng and Direk Brillante Mendoza’s wish to have a festival that not only inspires but educates and enlightens Filipino movie audiences.

For Full-length Category
– Synopsis of the film (no more than 200 words).
– Spoken language of the film must be in English, Filipino, or any Philippine dialect and should be subtitled in English.
– Provide three (3) printed copies of the finished/complete screenplay
– Include Sequence Breakdown, if available.
– Total running time of the film (should not exceed the 120 minutes mark).
– Curriculum vitaes with filmography of the applicants and two (2) recent 2×2 photos.
– Entries from abroad will only be accepted as long as they are written, directed, or produced by filmmakers of Filipino descent. Subject matter of the film should also be relevant to Filipino culture.
– Deadline: August 29th, 2019

For Short Films and Documentaries
– Synopsis of the film (no more than 200 words).
– Spoken language of the film must be in English, Filipino, or any Philippine dialect and should be subtitled in English.
– Short films should not exceed the 15 minutes mark and Documentaries 30 minutes mark.
– Music used for the film must be original, licensed, or in the public domain.
– Final entry should be in HD or SD data format (MP4, MOV or AVI).
– The entry should not have been previously exhibited as part of any local film festival or film competition.
– Soft copies of Official Poster, Official Trailer, Behind-the-scene photos, assorted stills and screen captures, and title art.
– Curriculum vitaes with filmography of the applicants and two (2) recent 2×2 photos.
– Entries from abroad will only be accepted as long as they are written, directed, or produced by filmmakers of Filipino descent. Subject matter of the film should also be relevant to Filipino culture.
– Deadline: December 31st, 2019
