The Singapore International Film Festival is accepting projects for the Asian-Short Film Grant (SEA-SHORTS) and the Southeast Asian-Documentary Grant (SEADOC) until January 31st, 2020. Here you can find more information about their call for projects.
About the SEA-SHORTS FILM GRANT
The Southeast Asian-Short Film Grant (SEA-SHORTS) aims to be the launch pad for the brightest upcoming names in filmmaking from the region. SEA-SHORTS will support two (2) short films annually, with a cash amount of S$4,000 and post-production support worth S$4,000 each. Applications are open for all genres including drama, animation and experimental short films.
Submission Guidelines:
– Applicants MUST be a producer and/or director of the film, director of the film MUST be of Southeast Asia descent and citizen.
– Film MUST be shot in Southeast Asia. Southeast Asia will be defined as Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Brunei, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
– Applicants MUST have made a previous short film.
– Projects MUST NOT have started production at the time of grant application.
– Projects MUST NOT be longer than 25 minutes.
– All genres are welcome (fiction, animation, documentary and experimental)
– Submissions MUST be done in English. All final films MUST include English subtitles.
– The short film MUST be completed within 12 months of awarded grant (dated on letter).
– The short film MUST be Premiere at the Singapore International Film Festival.
– Only 2 projects will be selected. All decisions are final.

About the SOUTHEAST ASIAN DOCUMENTARY GRANT
The Tan Ean Kiam Foundation-SGIFF Southeast Asian-Documentary Grant (SEADOC) aims to support the development and production of compelling stories told through the art of documentary in Southeast Asia. SEA-DOC will support four mid-length or feature projects annually, with a cash amount of S$25,000 each.
Submission Guidelines:
– Applicants MUST be a producer and/or director of the documentary, director of the documentary MUST be of Southeast Asia descent and citizen.
– Film MUST be shot in Southeast Asia. Southeast Asia will be defined as Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Brunei, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
– Applicants MUST have at least made two (2) previous short films.
– Projects within these lengths are eligible to apply: Medium length docs (40-59 minutes) and Feature docs (over 60 minutes).
– Submissions MUST be done in English. All final films MUST include English subtitles.
– The documentary film MUST be Premiere at the Singapore International Film Festival.
– Only 4 projects will be selected. All decisions are final.
– Submission Fees: None
