We continue with our list of films that you shouldn’t miss at the 19th GwangHwaMun International Short Film Festival which will take place at Cinecube (Gwanghwamun) from October 14th – 19th, 2021 in Seoul, Korea.

Melody by Kim Young-jeong – Korea | 2021 – 13 minutes
Section: New FIlmmaker

Trapped in a room and suffering from unknown noise and horror, I meet and talk with “GoYuHan Sun” and “Violet J”, a person with a mental disorder who is suffering from the same thing as me. The two were swimming in this world at their own pace and method. Our stories, which were drifting with each note, meet each other and are completed with a single melody (GISFF 2021).

The Adventure of a Hard Drive by Baek Seung-hwa – Korea | 2020 – 10 minutes

Mi-suk has quit working in filmmaking. She loses the external hard drive containing the original filming of her friend. In the middle of a mysterious hole she found while scouring the house, Mi-suk meets the things she has lost (GISFF 2021).

The Apartment by Hyomin – Korea | 2021 – 18 minutes
Section: Korean Competition 2

Taxi driver goes into apartment complex with the customer. After the driver drops off the customer, he can’t find the way out. Every way he tries is all blocked. Meanwhile, another customer hops into the taxi. Will Taxi driver be able to find the way out of this complex? (GISFF 2021)

The Monologue by Kim Do-young – Korea | 2018 – 30 minutes

An actress who lives a busy life with her baby receives a call for an audition from a famous director’s production team (GISFF 2021).

We have to love each other by Lee Ru-ri – Korea | 2021 – 20 minutes

“Jangmunan” is a small town by the river. After one year since a little girl had drowned in the river, the only middle school in town is to be closed down (GISFF 2021).

WRYD by Shin Ji-su – Korea | 2021 – 12 minutes

Yu-mi’s Saturday afternoon schedule is called off when she is just about to leave. She tries to find an alternative but it doesn’t go as she wishes (GISFF 2021).
