15 Short films you shouldn’t miss at the 18th Asiana International Short Film Festival

These are fifteen short films you shouldn’t miss at the 18th Asiana International Short Film Festival which will take place from October 22nd – 25th, 2020 at CINECUBE (Seoul, South Korea).

About the festival:
Asiana International Short Film Festival (AISFF) is the first international competition short festival in Korea. AISFF will be the best place to see the newest trend of world cinema though eyes of short films, the future of cinema and the cinematic variety and cultural diversity. **12th Assistant Deacon** by Jang Jae-hyun – South Korea | 2014 – 25 minutes

Two priests visit a girl being tormented by an evil spirit to perform an exorcism. But the demon’s power gets out of control, attacking the young assistant deacon.

**6D Theater** by Cho Hyun-min – South Korea | 2015 – 22 minutes
**Section**: The 10th Anniversary of Central Park Films | Central Park Pick!

Mingyu who broke up with his girl because of his obsession to films goes to the ‘6D theater’ with a sore heart. The film screened there is about King Arthur searching for the Holy Grail to rescue his people in distress.

**Bargain** by Lee Chung-hyun – South Korea | 2015 – 14 minutes

A man meets a teenage girl for a sex trafficking and tries to bargain her price.

Out of other options, a teacher decides to drive himself and two students to the school field trip by bus. On the way there, a passing car gets into a serious accident inside a tunnel, but the testimonies by the teacher and the students of how it exactly happened do not coincide.

**Driving School** by Yu Su-jin – South Korea | 2020 – 29 minutes

Choi Sun must pass the driving test today but finds herself in a trouble when out of nowhere, a couple of guys jump in her car. Sun has never finished the driving test before—could she drive the entire course today?

**Journey to the shore** by Uhm Ha-neul – South Korea | 2020 – 30 minutes

Minha and Sanbeom are a gay couple in high school. They go on a journey to the shore for their 100 th day anniversary. Minha does not care what other people think and exhibits his affection towards Sangbeom in public. On the other hand, Sangbeom feels uneasy about this. That night, Sangbeom tells Minha a secret.

Late at night, a man is preparing to commit suicide at a gas station, when a strange man suddenly appears and asks to borrow a Zippo lighter. The man gives him a lighter and then gets in the car and drinks soju. But again, a strange man knocks on the window of the car…

**Moon Power** by Yoon Dong-ki – South Korea | 2020 – 23 minutes

Soo-yeon receives her first ultrasound picture at her gynecologist’s office. She just can’t figure out what she should look at. Her husband tells the whole family about the picture.

**Opentoe** by Yoo Ji-won – South Korea | 2020 – 14 minutes
**Section**: New Filmmaker

One day, Sun-ah, who works part-time in washing dishes, is invited to her classmate’s brider shower. Sun-ah listens to her friend who seems to ignore her and takes out an old dress. Sun-ah tries to wear shoes that her boss lent her, but she starts to care about the athlete’s foot on her toenails.

**Pick-up** by Roh Do-hyeon – South Korea | 2019 – 14 minutes

Chu-hyun, a newbie film staff, drives a van to pick up an actress. But as a result of miscommunications on both parties, she ends up giving a ride to a prostitute, Hee-ra.

Jeong-su, who owns a little editing room, receives a work request from his ex-girlfriend and it makes him pissed off. Waiting for her, Jeong-su should meet various guests today.

**The Migration-ship** by Oh Yoo-bin – South Korea | 2020 – 30 minutes
**Section**: Korean Competition 1

Earth is encountering another Ice Age. As the planet faces total destruction, ‘The Migration-Ship’ was built to send people to the new Earth. Each person is only allowed to carry up to 25kg of luggage when boarding.
