21st Busan International Film Festival – Selected projects for the Asian Cinema Fund

We present the selected projects for the Asian Cinema Fund 2016.

The Asian Cinema Fund (ACF) focus on producing and developing Asian films. This year the ACF had selected 5 projects for Script Development Fund, 5 for Post-Production Fund, and 12 for Asian Network of Documentary.

Script Development Fund
Changfeng Town by Wang Jing – China
Goodbye Mr. Kanay Shrihari Sathe – India
Mediterranean Blue by Sarah Francis – Lebanon
The Secret of Radha by Subarna Thapa – Nepal
Memoryland by Kim Quy Bui – Vietnam

5 projects were selected for Script Development Fund, supporting projects in planning and developing stage. The selected 5 projects will be funded 10,000,000 KRW (7.900.000 US$) for script development.

Post-Production Fund
Honeygiver Among the Dogs by Dechen Roder – Bhutan
Hotel Salvation by Shubhashish Bhutiani – India
Lost to shame by Nam Yeon Woo – South Korea
Merry Christmas Mr. Mo by Lim Dae Hyung – South Korea
Jane by Cho HyunHoon – South Korea

The 5 selected works will be supported with Digital Intermediate (DI), sound mixing, and Digital Cinema Package (DCP) from ACF partners; KOFIC, Studio 2L, CJ Powercast, Wave Lab, Studio SH, Plusgain, KUMTLE, and the newly-joined Pluto Sound Group.

** – Funded with 10,000,000 KRW (7.900.000 US$)
*** – Funded with 20,000,000 KRW (15.880.000 US$)

Aiming to invigorate documentary production, AND offers each documentary project monetary support from Dongseo University, Youngsan University, BIFF Mecenat, and Busan Bank from 5,000,000 KRW (3.970.000 US$) to 20,000,000 KRW (15.880.000 US$) per project.

We would like to remind readers that the Busan International Film Festival will be held October 6th – October 15th. The Asian Film Market from October 8th – October 11th and the Asian Project Market from October 9th – October 11th.
