36th Busan International Short Film Festival – Final Entry Announcement

The organizers of the Busan International Short Film Festival announced today the entries for this year’s festival which will take place from April 24th – 29th, 2019 in Busan, Korea.

This year the festival received 872 Korean entries and 5,795 international short films from 131 countries. The selection committee consisted of 23 members, 19 Korean and 4 from abroad. The final line up is consisted of 19 Korean and 39 International Films. There was a clear lean towards fiction with 67% of entries, followed by experimental (14%), animation (10%) and documentary (9%). Organizers also pointed out that most of the films deal with political nature dealing with ever-increasing societal changes and various social conflicts.
