The DMZ Industry Program is accepting Documentaries in Pre-production, Production and Final stage of completion. Production Funds until March 31st, and Development Funds until April 9th. *Asian Filmmakers ONLY*

There are two main submission categories:
– DMZ Docs Fund that supports documentary projects in development or in production stage with its cash grants
– DMZ Docs Pitch which provides business and networking opportunities.

Deadlines:
– Production Fund (DMZ Docs Fund), Production Pitch and Rough Cut Presentation (DMZ Docs Pitch): March 31st, 2021 – 17:00 (GMT+9 / KST)
– Development Fund (DMZ Docs Fund): April 9th, 2021 – 17:00 (GMT+9 / KST)
– Post-production Fund (DMZ Docs Fund): TBA

DMZ Docs Funds

Development Fund
– For 10 Korean and Asian projects
– For early-stage projects under 30% in production (in development stage). Projects should be completed no later than August 2022. The documentary should be Premiere at the DMZ Docs 2022 (premiere condition can be changed or agreed upon after discussion)
– Gives 5,000,000 KRW per project (4,100 USD per project)
– Deadline: April 9th, 2021 – 17:00 pm (GTM +9 / KST)

Production Fund (formerly DMZ Project Fund)
– For 2 Korean and 1 Asian projects
– Projects should be at 30% – 70% in production.
– Gives 15,000,00 – 30,000,000 KRW per project. Official invitation to the DMZ Docs Lab 2021, DMZ Industry 2021 with pitching opportunity, and DMZ Docs Match 2021 (business meeting) service.
– Deadline: March 31st, 2021 – 17:00 (GMT +9 / KST)

Post-production Fund
– For 2 Korean projects.
– Projects submitted to the DMZ Docs 2021 call for entry, and completed shooting and editing.
– In-kind support (D.I., Sound mixing, DCP Packaging) at the designated facility in July and August. * The scope of the support is subject to change according to the facility’s availability.
– Deadline: TBA

DMZ Docs Pitch

Production Pitch
– For 15 Korean and Asian projects.
– For productions in 30 – 70% in production. Korean/Asian or International co-production projects with over 30% of Asian regional finance.
– Gives official invitation to DMZ Docs Lab 2021, DMZ Industry 2021 with pitching opportunity, DMZ Docs Match 2021 (business meeting) service, consideration for the DMZ Industry Awards 2021 (cash grants or in-kind support)
– Deadline: March 31st, 2021 – 17:00 pm (GMT +9 / KST)

Rough Cut Presentation
– For 8 Korean and Asian Projects
– For Post-production or in final stage of completion. Projects that can submit 30 min-long excerpts of rough cut. Projects that have never been release or broadcast (except for at film festivals)
– Gives official invitation to DMZ Industry 2021 with pitching opportunity, DMZ Docs Match 2021 (business meeting) service, and automatic consideration for the DMZ Industry Awards 2021 (cash grants or in-kind support).
– Deadline: March 31st, 2021 – 17:00 pm (GMT +9 / KST)

Submission Process:
– Fill out the online application with requested materials and submit it.
– Successful applicants will receive (automatic) confirmation email.
