I continue with my list of short films that you shouldn’t miss at the 22nd Jeonju International Film Festival which will take place both-in-theatre and online from April 29th until May 8th (2021), in Jeonju, South Korea.

**Miju** by Ko Sun-young – Korea | 2020 – 15 minutes | Fiction
Section: Special Focus: Coronoa, New Normal

In the COVID-19 era. Heeyoung, a taxi driver, meets Miju as her passenger. Miju remembers her, but Heeyoung doesn’t recognize Miju because she is wearing a mask. However, Heeyoung pretends to remember Miju who is so happy to meet her. (JIFF 2021)

**My Eggs** by Kim Soy – Korea | 2020 – 27 minutes | Fiction
Section: Korean Cinema

Soojin is not planning to get married nor have kids. However, her mother insists that she lives a NORMAL life and forces her to get her ova frozen. And things get very hormonal. (JIFF 2021)

A cat is abandoned in front of Yeongwoo and Jinhee’s studio, the contract period of which is about to expire. The cat comes into the studio and wags their stories. (JIFF 2021)

**Teacher’s Day** by Lee Jihyang – Korea | 2020 – 17 minutes | Fiction

Jiwon, who is attending graduate school, has been a student of Professor Kim. The move is aimed at finding a better job by taking advantage of the title of “Professor Kim´s disciple.” At a time when they are about to announce their acceptance into the research institute, they are caught up in unexpected things. **The things we hoped last summer** by Park Jongwoo – Korea | 2021 – 35 minutes | Fiction

The kids living in a village with an incineration plant start collecting marbles coming from nowhere. They think those mysterious things would make their wishes come true. Maybe because they all were hungry for something. But the desires lead them to unexpected consequences. The parents of the kids are into the long dark night. (JIFF 2021)

**Vacation Event** by Choi Minyoung – Korea | 2021 – 39 minutes | Fiction
Section: Korean Competition for Shorts

In the summer of 2007, Gahye realizes that her younger brother Gwanghyeon is the class president. She is planning to steal a motorcycle and sell it with her friend Gangseop so she could buy her brother a hamburger on the last day of school before the summer break starts. (JIFF)

**Waves** by Shin Jiwoo – Korea | 2020 – 40 minutes | Fiction
Section: Korean Cinema

Jiyeon, who dreams of becoming an actress, is attracted to photographer Geonyoung while taking pictures. But soon, she finds out that he has a lover. (JIFF 2021)
