The Korean Film Council ranked the Jeonju International Film Festival (JIFF) as the best Korean festival for the second time.

The Korean Film Council (KOFIC) announced last week that after an evaluation of the best festivals in Korean the JIFF came on top. “We discussed business plans of each film festival in 2018 with reference to previous results and evaluations. As a result, we’ve decided to support Jeonju International Film Festival, Seoul International Women’s Film Festival, Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, Jecheon International Music&Film Festival, DMZ International Documentary Film Festival and Busan International Film Festival. Jeonju International Film Festival ranked top in evaluation for film festivals for 2 consecutive years and showed excellent performance in film production and distribution through Jeonju Cinema Project.”

At the same time the KOFIC announced they will increase its budget for the support-fund of festivals. Total expenditure of foster project for international film festivals is 4-billion KRW, increased by 1.5-billion KRW year-on-year.
