The 19th Jeonju International Film Festival (JIFF) closed entries for the International Competition.
The Call for Entry period took place from December 1st, 2017 to January 31st, 2018. During that period 321 films were submitted; 107 World Premire, 147 Asian Premiere and 3 International Premiere. The genre that was most submitted was fiction films; 162 film films, 133 documentaries and only 16 experimental. 70 Countries have participated in the entry with Russia at the top of the list with 30 films, followed by USA with 29, and Italy with 23.
The Executive Committee of the Jeonju IFF stated that “This year, Jeonju IFF has confirmed a heightened status in the world, based on the diversified participation of the films. We will do the best in selecting the finalists and gear up for the upcoming festival.”
The finalists will be selected and announced in March. The 19th Jeonju International Film Festival will take place from May 3rd – 12th, 2018.
