Jeonju Project Market – Awards 2016

We present the winners of the Joenju Project Market held during the Jeonju International Film Festival.

The 8th Jeonju Project Market Award Ceremony was held on May 3rd at the Jeonju Digital Independent Cinema. The JPM aims to discover and support feature films with new ideas and documentary projects for theatrical release and become a project market that can provide practical assistance for movie production and furthermore explore possibilities for the domestic release of outstanding Korean films and help them venture into the international market.

The Grand Prize of Feature Film Pitching and the Audience Award went to The Poet’s Love by Kim Yanghee. The film was award 10.000.000 KRW (US$ 8.500) for prost production support. The TV5Monde Award went to The Snob by Shin Aga and got 5.000.000 KRW (US$ 4.300) for post-production support. The co-production (South Korea and France) A Duck’s Grin by Kim Youngnam took the Excellence Award and got digital color compensation and sound mastering support.

As for the Documentary Pitching section, The Painter’s view by Kim Hee-chul received the Grand Prize. The TV5Monde and Audience Award went to The Birth of Espionage by Cho Eunsung, the film was awarded 5.000.000 KRW (US$ 4.300) for post-production support and digital cinema packaging. My Daughter’s Tiptoeing by Kwon Woojung received the Excellence Award with color compensation and sound mastering support.

In the Rising Cinema Showcase section, Le Tour, the memories of a forgotten dream by Lim Jungha received Distribution grants with screening opportunity at the Jeonju Digital Independent Cinema. The KB Kookmin Card Prize and Audience Prize went to Dear Grandma by Lee Sohyun and receive 5.000.000 KRW (US$ 4.300).
