
The Shaman Sorceress by Ahn Jae-huun will open the 3rd PyeongChang International Peace Film Festival which will take place from June 17th – 22nd, 2021.
About the festival:
The PyeongChang International Peace Film Festival aims to create a peace mood in Korean Peninsula through cultural exchange and encourage to make films with themes of peace, coexistence and prosperity by supporting competitive sections.

There is a tragic history behind the painting titled The Shaman Sorceress, left in the home by a mute girl and her father. With husband and daughter by her side, Mohwa devoted her life to practicing shamanistic rites. She is rejoined by her long-estranged son, who turns out to be a converted Christian. The ensuing religious conflict between the two grows more and more intense until a tragedy strikes. (PIPFF 2021)

About the director:
Director AHN Jae-huun is broadening the horizon of Korean animation films in an industry largely forged and dominated by Hollywood and Japanese studios. Green Days and The Road Called Life are prime examples of his projects portraying the country’s past, present and future, while Winter Sonata and I Love You, I’m Sorry, both based on popular TV series, are the fruits of his passion to reach contemporary audiences worldwide through Korean-made features.
