30 Short Films you cannot miss at the 11th Seoul International Extreme – Short Image & Film Festival (Part 1)

Sesiff2019filmsaWe present a list of thirty short films you shouldn’t miss at the 11th Seoul International Extreme – Short Image & Film Festival which will take place from September 3rd – 8th, in Seoul, Korea.

A Delivery Man

A Delivery Man by Jin Su – Korea | 2018 – 4 minutes
Section: Korean Competition 1

An ordinary courier has the arduous task of making deliveries on foot up steep staircases in the rural mountainside. Everday he passes by an orphaned boy living in poverty with his grandmother. The young boy spends his time, alone, watching the courier make his rounds up the mountain with the hopes that one day he’ll recieve a package. One day the boy gets a special delivery.

A man who has lost his memory wakes up at the police office. A mysterious girl identify him as a suspect. Then his memory keeps coming back.

A woman gets in a taxi to go somewhere. The driver rambles on and on, and the woman doesn’t pay much attention. Until what the driver says gets weirder and weirder.

 

Dear Dear

Dear Dear by Yu Hsuan Liu – Taiwan | 2019 – 12 minutes
Section: International Competition 7

Li Jing brings her mother along on a health checkup. However, she gradually reveals certain aspects that breaks her mother’s image of her as a good daughter.

I tried to challenge the Lotte Hotel videeo contest and failed. I think I can make a documentary with the theme of faliure, so I decide to make the challenges and failures of my friends and me into a new one.

Hong-seok is chased by loan sharks because he failed in the prostitution business. Accidentally he finds a 500 won coin in a vending machine.

A teenage girl wants to hide her intimate relationship with her girlfriend with lots of body hair and begins to obsess over removing body hair herself.

Ye-eun is best friends with Hee-jung. Then one day Jiwoo transfers to their class. The three became friends, but Ye-eun begins to feel uneasy when she sees Ji-woo and Hee-jung gradually becoming friends.
