A Trip to There is an experimental video essay from my documentation of my younger days. I rearrange my materials along the timeline and transform the past and unchangeable events into dialogues with new contexts, creating a journey that penetrates spatial and temporal boundaries (Kaohsiung 2021).

Being chased by the authorities, Yu has to seek Lien’s help. But Lien’s ability to create drugs and her fascinating personality bring Yu into a world of fantasy where it’s hard to distinguish what’s real and what’s not (Kaohsiung 2021).

Contemplating the torn walls and scars, the heroine thinks of the ups and downs of love. Girl in the Water, a hand-drawn animation based on personal experiences, depicts femininity and female internal time-consciousness through the healing of a woman’ s broken heart (Kaohsiung 2021).

The elderly photographer, Chie, told a childhood story about her sister Iòng-Hâ and the sister’s admiration Kong-Suī, in a time when Taiwan’s cultural and linguistic identity have undergone dramatic changes after the Pacific war (Kaohsiung 2021).

Mrs. Lin has thousands of photos of herself and has photoshopped herself since half a century ago. She is Lien Lin, the Retoucher. This film is about her life as a female crafter as well as the vanishing art of retouching (Kaohsiung 2021).
