**A Trip to There** by Ngai Tsz-Kwan – Hong Kong | 2021 – 20 minutes
**Section**: International Competition

A Trip to There is an experimental video essay from my documentation of my younger days. I rearrange my materials along the timeline and transform the past and unchangeable events into dialogues with new contexts, creating a journey that penetrates spatial and temporal boundaries (Kaohsiung 2021).

**Butterflies** by Albert Ventura Roldán – Taiwan | 2020 – 43 minutes
**Section**: Taiwan Trans-border

Being chased by the authorities, Yu has to seek Lien’s help. But Lien’s ability to create drugs and her fascinating personality bring Yu into a world of fantasy where it’s hard to distinguish what’s real and what’s not (Kaohsiung 2021).

**Can you hear me?** by li Nien-Hsiu – Taiwan | 2021 – 25 minutes
**Section**: Kaohsiung Focus – Kaohsiung Shorts

Jhong wakes up and finds himself dead. He watches his remaining family members dealing with his death while they speak their thoughts over breakfast. Although his wife can’t hear what he has to say, she comprehends what’s on his mind (Kaohsiung 2021).

**Errand** by Lee Young-woong – Korea | 2021 – 16 minutes
**Section**: International Competition

Younger siblings Joo-hee and Sung-joon go on errands at the request of their mother. But it’s a list of errands that look weird. Will Joo-hee and Sung-joon be able to finish their errands successfully? (Kaohsiung 2021)

**Georgia** by Jayil Pak – US, Korea, Canada | 2020 – 25 minutes

Based on a true story. When the police refuse to investigate their daughter’s alleged suicide, two computer-illiterate parents decide to design a protest banner (Kaohsiung 2021).

**Girl in the water** by Huang Shi-Rou – Taiwan | 2021 – 7 minutes
**Section**: International Competition – Taiwan Section

Contemplating the torn walls and scars, the heroine thinks of the ups and downs of love. Girl in the Water, a hand-drawn animation based on personal experiences, depicts femininity and female internal time-consciousness through the healing of a woman’ s broken heart (Kaohsiung 2021).

**Invisible Children** by Liu Chun-Yu – Taiwan | 2021 – 9 minutes
**Section**: International Competition – Taiwan Section

Aya has lived a lonely life without an official identity because her mother is an illegal migrant worker. When Aya becomes ill, she meets two playmates in the hospital and discovers they are also Invisible Children, incapable of growing up … (Kaohsiung 2021)

**Last Meal** by Arrow Peng – Taiwan | 2021 – 25 minutes
**Section**: International Competition

Chou is a bit of an asshole. His habits include squatting, hanging out on the street, and teasing his old pal Deng. In his eyes, this is his world. One day, he finds out there are still some tragedies that he cannot handle (Kaohsiung 2021).

**March: The Southern South** by Li Shang-Chiao – Taiwan | 2021 – 20 minutes
**Section**: Kaohsiung Focus – Kaohsiung Shorts

The elderly photographer, Chie, told a childhood story about her sister Iòng-Hâ and the sister’s admiration Kong-Suī, in a time when Taiwan’s cultural and linguistic identity have undergone dramatic changes after the Pacific war (Kaohsiung 2021).

**Ms Lin: The Retouching Lady** by Lin Shih-Chun – Taiwan | 2020 – 25 minutes
**Section**: International Competition – Taiwan Section

Mrs. Lin has thousands of photos of herself and has photoshopped herself since half a century ago. She is Lien Lin, the Retoucher. This film is about her life as a female crafter as well as the vanishing art of retouching (Kaohsiung 2021).
