The Taipei Film Festival is accepting movies for their International New Talent Competition until March 30th, 2018. Here you can find more information about their Call for Entry.

First held in 2005, the “International New Talent Competition” is Taiwan’s only international competition aimed at debut and second feature films of new filmmakers. The Competition selects 10 to 12 films a year, focusing on the potential of new directors in their structuring, storytelling, grasp of themes, and aesthetic style. An international jury selects the “Grand Prize” and “Special Jury Prize”, with the winning directors receiving prize money of NT$600,000 and NT$300,000, respectively. Audience members vote for the third official prize of the Competition, the “Audience Choice Award”.

General Rules:
– Films must be a director’s 1st or 2nd feature.
– Minimum length of 70 minutes and be available as 35mm print or DCP.
– Must be Taiwan Premiere.
– English Subtitles are required.
– Submission Fee: FREE
– Deadline: March 30th, 2018
