These are twenty-five short films you shouldn’t miss at the Seoul Yeongdeugpo International Extreme-Short Image & Film Festival which will take place from October 18 – 23, 2022.

A Child in Silence by Kangjae Cha – Korea | 2021 – 5 minutes
Section: Non-Competition – Bloody Night

While waiting for his mother until late at night, In-jae goes through a nightmare. As In-jae wakes up from the nightmare and comes to his senses, he hears his mother’s voice coming from outside the front door. As In-jae approaches the front door while feeling strange, Weird phenomena begin to occur. (SESIFF 2022)

Gyeongju, a 19-year-old girl going through the worst time of her life where nothing goes right, is told by a shaman that the spirit of her grandmother who passed away a few years ago still remains. Gyeongju and her friend Mijung find an old paper talisman in the empty house, which has been their hangout spot for the last couple of months. (SESIFF 2022)

A mother finds a cigarette in her daughter’s bag. Even though her mother starts to bombard her with questions, the daughter keeps her mouth shut. Then the father returns home from work and begins to suspect the cigarette was not just a cigarette, after all. (SESIFF 2022)

How To Get Lost In Your Own Room by Jaehyun Park – Korea | 2021 – 12 minutes

Somewhere foggy. It turns out that this is a place in a VR game played by Jeong-Im. The purpose of the game is to find a house in an unfamiliar place. Jeong-Im begins to enjoy the game in the game, and finally arrives home, but the game does not end. (SESIFF 2022)

Illusion of Everyday Life by Dooyeon Hwang – Korea | 2022 – 1’36’’
Section: 90 Seconds Korean Competition

As usual, the video begins with the scene of office workers going to work on the subway, which is common around us. The subway was a “daily” space to help commute, but it turns into a “fantasy” space where people dance excitedly when they listen to music. (SESIFF 2022)
