These are ten short films you shouldn’t miss at the Busan International Film Festival which will take place from October 5 – 14, 2022.

**Canine** by Kim Jung-min – Korea | 2022 – 19 minutes
**Section**: Korean Short Film Competition | World Premiere

Ji-hun often tastes blood because of his unusually sharp canines. He lives with his obsessively caring mother and often thinks of his close friend Ju-seong. A teenage boy’s identity crisis and the mother’s oppression have been born into this queer drama combined with the vampire genre. (BusanIFF 2022)

A letter to herself from a girl who finds herself in a chaotic world. An inner journey mixed with various emotions is expressed through animation. (BusanIFF 2022)

**Flowers** by Shin Eun-seop – Korea | 2022 – 28 minutes

Upon learning that today may be the grandfather’s last day, the mother and daughter bring condolence flowers to the hospital. Their relatives come as well. But the flowers arrive before the grandfather’s death, and family members begin to voice their feelings in this tragi-comedy family film with a great ensemble cast. (BusanIFF 2022)

**I’m Here** by Jeong Eunuk – Korea | 2022 – 27 minutes

The father, who has been battling a disease for ten years, and the mother, exhausted from caring for him, return home. It looks as though Sujin, who was recently fired and planning to go on a working holiday, would have to stay home. Occasionally she sees a zombie in her father. The anxiety and fear in daily life shown through horror film conventions are ambiguous yet vivid. (BusanIFF 2022)

After Jeonghyun helps clean the bathhouse run by her friend Hosu’s family, they take a bath together. Trivial conversations, vague concerns, and daunting future. Their day flows by like water. The director has an unusual talent for creating his own tone and mood without drama using water as a motif. (BusanIFF 2022)

Jiho starts delivery work with a second-hand bike she spent much to buy. One night, a small delivery mistake gets her running about, and the more she works the poorer she gets. An indie filmmaker announces his retirement at his own screening and drinks himself into stupor. When he wakes up with a hangover, characters from his films rush into his home. A film about film with self-mockery and self-homage, or an ontological tribute to the shorts in the external hard drive of a little-known director. (BusanIFF 2022)

Three siblings who are gathered at their father’s funeral learn that the body of their deceased father has been accidentally switched with another. Amid confusion, they act in tears to protect their social dignity in front of relatives and friends. (BusanIFF 2022)
