These are fifteen short films you shouldn’t miss at the 24th Seoul International Women’s Film Festival, which will take place from August 25 until September 1, 2022.

**Bandi** by Moon Choi – Korea | 2021 – 41 minutes

Soyoung is a single mom with a nine-year-old daughter named Bandi. She blames herself for not being able to fix Bandi’s stammering and thinks one of the reasons for Bandi’s passive attitude and stammering is her absent father. One day, she decides to tell Bandi about her father for the first time. However, it’s not easy to explain death. (SIWFF 2022)

**Beauty Queen** by Myra Aquino – Philippines, USA | 2021 – 18 minutes

Set in the Philippines during World War II, a young woman struggles to find purpose after losing her father. (SIWFF 2022)

In a society where women’s clothes are considered dirty, Sandar hangs her skirt outside the house. In response, her Burmese neighbors criticize Sandar for her improper act and her parents for not teaching their daughter right. As tensions rise within the family, Sandar makes a bid for freedom from the traditions that pin her down. (SIWFF 2022)

A detective is led by an accidental postcard to investigate an incident at the USFK base Camp Long. It is in ruins, with no occupants for over 20 years. The detective discovers that a strange geographic data value called CAMP LONG ATM occupies all space and time. However, there are no financial traces at the scene, only bloodstains disguised as evidence. (SIWFF 2022)

**The Sound of the Shell** by Kim Jungmin – Korea | 2021 – 18 minutes

Fifteen-year-old Lee On stays at her grandma’s house in the countryside to avoid rumors that she did nothing when her parents died. However, On feels uncomfortable there because her grandmother keeps talking about death. (SIWFF 2022)

**To Pick a Flower** by Shireen Seno – Philippines, Taiwan | 2021 – 17 minutes

My mother used to tell me that our dining table was as old as I am. I wonder how old the tree was when it was cut down to become our table. I am fascinated by this kind of transmutation from the natural world to the human one. (SIWFF 2022)
