The Asian World Film Festival (AWFF) brings the best of a broad selection of Asian World cinemas to Los Angeles in order to draw greater recognition to the region’s wealth of filmmakers and strengthen ties between Asian and Hollywood film industries.

All films that participate in the Festival will have a unique chance to be guided through the challenging awards season, showcasing their foreign films to members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, and to all Guilds for enhanced exposure, media attention, and awards consideration. In 2016, AWFF was proud to screen 21 of the 89 submissions to the 89th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film (the Oscar®).
