News

We started the month with the announcement of the programme (See Article) from the 46th Hong Kong International Film Festival (August 15 -31, 2022). We also published news about the closing film, Tori and Lokita directed by Jean-Pierre & Luc Dardenne (See Article).
The Janes directed by Tia Lessin and Emma Pildes (See Article) will open the Seoul International Women’s Film Festival which will take place from August 25 until September 1, 2022. Dark Red Forest directed by Huaqing Jin (See Article) will open the EBS International Documentary Festival which will take place in cinemas and online from August 22 – 28, 2022, in Seoul, Korea.
We announced news about the programme (See Article) of the 34th Gawad Alternatibo (Philippines) which took place from August 6 – 14, 2022 (The festival is now online until October 2022). We also announced the programme (See Article) of the 13th Korean Film Festival in Australia which is taking place until September 10, 2022 in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, and Brisbane, Australia.
Finally, we announced the projects selected for the Asian Project Market 2022 (See here). The APM is co-production platform that offers emerging filmmakers the opportunity to meet international leading film professionals. We also announced the people (See Here) that will attend the Chanel x BIFF Asian Film Academy program this year.
Awards

Best Short Feature Award at the 34th Gawad Alternatibo (Philippines)
We published the winners of the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival (Japan) which took place July 28 until August 1, 2022 (See Article). We also announced the winners of the 18th Jecheon International Music & Film Festival which took place in Jecheon, Korea from August 11 – 16, 2022 (See Article). The Gawad Alternatibo, an independent Filipino film festival that took place during the Cinemalaya also had their Award Ceremony (See Article). The good news is that you can watch the short films online at their website until October 2022.
