These are twenty five short film you cannot miss at the 13th Sapporo International Short Film Festival that is taking place from October 11th – 21st in Sapporo, Japan.

Gatha by Chenglong Tang – China | 2018 – 16 min.

A story of Tibetan brothers’ prostrating pilgrimage to Mount Kangrinboqe (Mount Kailash), where the elder brother unfortunately died. With his late brother’s last wish, the younger brother finally arrived at the Holy Land, alone, grieved, but fulfilled. His journey continued, a new cycle of life began.

Death of the Sound Man by Sorayos Prapapan – Thailand | 2017 – 16 min.
International Programme – The Spice of Life

Two sound recordists are working on a film. They realize that same as Thai government that never listen its citizens’ voice, the audience don’t care about the sound they worked hard on.

The story revolves around the initial fear and trepidation of Mrs Lee, an elderly taiwanese lady who comes to Singapore for the first time in search of her grandfather’s tombstone in the nation’s only Hakka cemetery. We follow her desperate journey to find her grandfather before the cemetery gets relocated.

An old picture book writer named Yamazaki, having been handsome as a young gay man, grows narcissistic of his beauty. But now, can’t bear his own aging. Yamazaki turns to hurting himself in order to bear his own reflection in the mirror….
