20th Giornate degli Autori – Call for Entry 2023

Dear Asian filmmakers, the Giornate degli Autori (Italy) is accepting feature films until June 16, 2023.

About the festival:
Giornate degli Autori was born in 2004, as an independent sidebar of the Venice Film Festival, modeled on the prestigious ‘Directors’ Fortnight’ of the Cannes Festival and promoted by the associations of Italian film directors and authors (ANAC and 100autori).

The aim of the event is to draw attention to high quality cinema, without any kind of restriction, with special care for innovation, research, originality and independence. These are all features of the 10 films selected as well as being reflected in the special events held during the Days in the Casa degli Autori.

Eligibility:
– The festival only accepts feature and documentary films longer than 60 minutes.
– Films must have been produced after September 30, 2022.
– If selected, films must be screened during the festival in DCP.
– Films already theatrically released or distributed in home video or broadcasted on television or streamed on Internet are not eligible.
– Films presented, out of their country of origin, to any International festival or major film event (except in the context of only one film market), are not eligible. Priority will be given to films in absolute world premiere.
– Films that have been already submitted with negative result to the selection of the 2022 edition are not eligible.
– For the pre-selection, subtitles in English or Italian are compulsory, also for movies in O.V. English.
