
The Network of Asian Fantastic Films (NAFF) Project Market is calling for projects until April 30, 2023
About the NAFF:
The Network of Asian Fantastic Films (NAFF) was launched in 2008 as the world’s first genre film industry program. Over the past 15 years, the program has selected 399 projects, of which 78 have gone on to completion, and it has established itself as an Asian hub for supporting and cultivating filmmakers.
About the It Project:
Launched in 2008, the NAFF It Project is the world’s first-ever project market to focus exclusively on genre films. By discovering projects and providing production support, it creates new trends within the film industry, while also acting as an Asian film industry hub, where film professionals and individuals in the film industry can interact.
Directors and producers of the selected projects get to have one-on-one business meetings with film industry professionals from all around the world, which could lead to a co-production, investment, and distribution opportunities. In addition, a jury that consists of domestic and overseas film industry professionals conducts individual meetings with projects in order to choose the outstanding projects that will receive cash awards and post-production support awards.
Eligibility:
– Feature film projects of at least 60 minutes of running time, and series project of at least 40 minutes of running time (2 episodes included at minimum).
– Both a director and producer should be attached.
– Accepts projects at any stage of production from development, pre-production, production to postproduction can be accepted.
– A project that is not fully financed. A project that has been selected or supported by other organizations/funds may apply, except when it is fully supported financially.
– One applicant can apply several different projects. However, each of the projects must submit a complete entry form separately.
– Entry must be made via the official website of the BIFAN (see link below)
– All materials should be provided in English and all the video materials subtitled in English.
Material List:
– Logline (200 characters or 40 words)
– Synopsis (1500 characters or 240 words, with complete ending)
– Treatment (max. 6pg), The series must have 2 episodes included at minimum.
– Director’s Statement (500 characters or 80 words)
– Profiles of Director/Producer/Production Company(400 characters or 60 words)
– Production Schedule(Detailed as possible)
– Director’s previous work(s)/Footage or trailer of the project. Please upload your video materials via video services. i.e. Vimeo, Youtube, etc. and provide its designated URL and Password on the online entry form.
Benefits of the Selected Projects:
– A roundtrip flight ticket and 4-night’s accommodation will be offered for a director and 4-night’s
accommodation for a producer of each selected project.
– Complimentary B.I.G badges that provide full access to BIFAN will be offered to project representatives.
– One on one business meetings with industry professionals will be offered during the NAFF Project Market.
