The Sound of Friendship: Warm Wavelengths in a Cold, Cold War directed by Anandita Bajpai will be screened at the Norient Festival, which will take place from January 11 – 15, 2023 in Bern, Switzerland.

Warm Wavelengths tells the fascinating story of the Hindi program at the GDR’s foreign broadcasting station Radio Berlin International (RBI) which aired from 1967 to 1990. Recounting the perspectives of former East German/Indian presenters, the film reflects on cross-border friendships between listeners in India and journalists in East Germany, who forged warmth across two continents at the time of the Cold War.
