Odyssey: A Chinese cinema season is an annual festival in the UK, showcasing the latest international films about China on a specific topic. Theme for the 2023 edition is ‘Global Sustainability’. The festival is presented by UK-China Film Collab.

Competition
Sustainable Corporate Culture: For short films that captures how and what your businesses have been contributing to the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Non-Competition Section:
EQUALITY: For films discussing the issues of equality across different social groups.
JOURNEY: For films as an action with a mission, which tackle or discover a new scope of a sustainable future.
ENVIRONMENT: For films which highlight the issues of our environment or propose solutions to existing issues.
URBAN DEVELOPMENT: For films as a social agent that witness and raise questions around urban development.
BIODIVERSITY: For films that explores the Life Below Water and Life on Land.

Eligibility:
– The festival accepts films produced, co-produced anywhere in the world but with a focus on China.
– The festival is open to all genres of Chinese and international Chinese film both short and features (documentary, narrative, experimental, and animation) that responds to the festival theme ‘Global Sustainability’.
– Films should have been completed after January 1, 2019.
– No premiere status is required.
– All submitted films should be original work, the entrant is the legal holder of the copyright of the work.
– All submitted films must have English subtitles, and preferably also with Chinese subtitles.
– Submission Fees:
*General Category: $ 25.14 USD | $ 18.86 for FilmFreeway Gold Members
*Competition Category (Short Film): $ 62.86 USD | $ 47.14 for FilmFreeway Gold Members
– Deadline: January 20, 2023
– Notification Date: February 15, 2023
